What are the 7 rules of ABA?
The 7 rules of ABA usually means its seven dimensions, first described by Baer, Wolf and Risley in 1968. They define what good ABA practice looks like.
Applied means goals matter in the person’s daily life. Behavioral means the focus is behavior you can see and measure. Analytic means data show the teaching caused the change. Technological means procedures are written clearly enough for someone else to repeat them. Conceptually systematic means methods tie back to the principles of behavior. Effective means the change is big enough to make a real difference. Generality means skills last and carry over to new people, places and situations.
They also work as a checklist. When you compare providers, ask how they measure progress and how they help skills carry over to home.
